On Tuesday, Oct. 21, Holly Storrow, entertainment editor of The Daily Quirk joined us for a meeting all about entertainment reporting. The Daily Quirk is a smaller entertainment and lifestyle online magazine that has been able to cover major events like San Diego Comic-Con and is making its way to becoming a bigger name.
Storrow is an OU alumna who joined TDQ her senior year and jumped into a top editor position only one year later!
At the meeting, we focused on the importance and relevance of entertainment journalism — a much needed discussion that is not often had in the journalism program. It was a refreshing dialogue. “Entertainment journalism is hard. It can be stressful. Just like any news story, you still have to do reporting and get the facts,” Storrow said.
At The Daily Quirk, positivity and individuality is key. Storrow said they stress to their writers to add their own personality and voice to his or her story because that is what will make it stand out.
