Internship Search Advice after our Pizza Social

This week we had a pizza social in honor of our National Chapter win so we could meet all of our members. We had such a great time meeting all of you and learning more about each of you. With full stomachs of cheese pizza and chocolate chip cookies, we talked about our classes and gave some advice on the expectations you all can look forward to here at the Scripps School of Journalism.

We learned you all would like to learn more about multimedia and blogging, but many of you wanted advice on how to find internships. Resume and cover letter critiques are definitely a part of our meeting planning in the future, but, for those of you looking to find an internship now, check out SPJ’s INC newsletter each week and these four main sites.

1. Ed2010, a website that gets updates from websites and magazines alike from companies like Conde Nast and Hearst.

2. Mediabistro, a website like and other hiring sites, but this one is well-known to have publications on it.

3. Journalism Jobs, a site dedicated to all journalists and have been known to post jobs from CSPAN, CNN and New York Times

4.  Scripps Website,  the journalism school consistently updates any internships each week.

We hope this helps you while looking for any internship opportunities.

What is the most intimidating part about applying for internships to you? Let us know and we can give you some advice.
